Diabetes & Thyroid Awareness: A Step Toward Prevention and Better Health

India is currently facing an alarming rise in lifestyle-related health conditions, with diabetes and thyroid disorders being among the most widespread. Often called the diabetes capital of the world, India has over 77 million people living with the disease. Despite these growing numbers, awareness and timely diagnosis remain low. The blue circle, the universal symbol for diabetes, represents solidarity and hope in the global effort to raise awareness.

Similarly, the thyroid awareness ribbon, usually seen in blue, pink, or purple, symbolizes education and early detection of thyroid issues—conditions that are especially common among women.
With over 19 years of experience, Dr. Rohini Gajare, a renowned Diabetologist, is playing an instrumental role in addressing these challenges through a proactive and people-centric approach. She believes that awareness is the first step toward prevention. To support this, she conducts free health camps on significant days such as World Diabetes Day, Thyroid Awareness Month, and Women’s Health Day.
These camps include free blood sugar and thyroid testing, expert counselling, and lifestyle advice, aiming to detect issues early and provide guidance before complications arise. Dr. Gajare also educates communities about managing diabetes and thyroid conditions through diet, exercise, and regular follow-ups.
Her dedication goes beyond the clinic—she’s building a healthier society by empowering people with knowledge and timely intervention. With compassion, expertise, and community engagement, Dr. Rohini Gajare continues her mission of making preventive healthcare accessible and impactful for all
